The Naked Truth

There was this artist... lived in stressful times; more specifically, was living in wartime and painted for income and also to escape the horridness of that time in that reality.
Painted with cheerful colors. And yet, most people, when asked to reflect on this artist's work, would say they have a heaviness to them, despite the pallette.

It seems to me, art will always show us the truth. About ourselves and how we're going about our lives in those moments we've created it. Doubt there are any folks other than those who've amputated their emotions who could not start honing in accurately on an artist's work and what that artist may have been going through or processing.

In my world, many artists stand figuratively as well as literally, naked, before their materials and ask... "alright, what now?"  And allows many of us to bring new joy to our endeavors. I've not had to live through a war, but many people have commented on my emotional states while viewing various works and series. They're almost always spot on.

Here's to authenticity!
