Sometimes romantic can be a lot of effort. Dr. Andrew Huberman has been on my IG grid for awhile now and I think art is also like dopamine; one has to work at it and THEN we get to feel good looking at it for a long while.
Oil paintings need light and air to dry evenly. They need care. Even if we play around with the fat over lean rules and mix and match in a new world of no rules in art, ....
.... there is still, imo, a lot of attention and effort that goes into a painting.
Mine get hung up like clothes on hangers, mostly. They have space to breathe. They have time to mature.
Some people have closets full of clothes and shoes; I have storage rooms of oil paintings. :)
